Work-Life-Balance vs. Lifebalance

The term work-life balance is now on everyone’s lips and illustrates how important it is to create a healthy balance between everyday work and private life in order to remain satisfied and healthy in the long term. What this balance exactly looks like and which other areas are involved can vary from person to person. In addition to the work-life balance, however, one’s own life balance should also be in harmony, which means that in addition to private appointments, family and friendships, we also need rest periods and me-time. You can find out how this can be achieved here.

Work-Life-Balance

In order to ensure a good work-life balance, employers can already do a lot, provided that working conditions allow it. For example, flexible working hours or the possibility of working from home make it easier to combine our private and working lives. But also, good company health management with health-promoting offers and a balanced canteen make us more satisfied, balanced and healthier at work in the long term. In addition, private time can also be saved if there is already a full-fledged meal at work for lunch so the food does not have to be pre-cooked at home. In-house childcare can also be a helpful relief and save additional trips to a kindergarden.

In addition, of course, everyone should think about what is important to himself or herself outside of work and what makes us feel good. In order to find enough time for hobbies and sports, it can be helpful to create a schedule and block fixed days (times) for it.

Lifebalance

In addition to a good work-life balance, it is just as important to find a good life balance for yourself. Of course, in our free time we also have to attend to important appointments, such as a visit to the doctor, or if necessary, drive the children to appointments. Nevertheless, there should be enough time and it should be actively planned for the things that really create balance for us. A meeting with friends or family is probably part of most people’s lives. However, this can also be exhausting, especially if you are more craving a cozy evening on the sofa than a night in the bar. Accordingly, it is important that you pay attention to your own needs for a healthy life balance and do not constantly try to do justice to others. So cancelling and having a cozy evening alone is perfectly fine and just as important. You can arrange your me-time the way you like it. Whether it’s a walk, a small sports or yoga session, taking a bath, reading a book or listening to music  —  create your own feel-good balance.
